Panama Canal Caricatures


 The last of my cruise adventure caricatures! I promise! :) Here's what The Panama Canal looks like from the window beside where I drew caricatures that afternoon. Amazing feat! The caricature above was a popular theme for the cruise, I actually learned it while drawing caricatures in Disneyland.

Heartland Series


 A few years back I was asked to come and draw caricatures of the cast of the television series " Heartland." A well produced show on tv. The pretty blonde above is the star of the show and when it came time to draw her, of course I wanted to get it right, but as luck would have it, I just couldn't get her to look at me for any length of time ( she looks at attractive men all the time.... maybe she just didn't want to see me... :) ) So of course.... I blew the caricature likeness big time.... oh well.....   :)

A few of the ports I was able to see on my last working caricature cruise. I was lucky enough to visit Jamaica, Panama, Costa Rica, Columbia, Mexico and Florida. Caricature drawing was twice daily unless it was a port day. 27 caricature gigs in a row!

Here was my "office" while drawing aboard the ship last month. The right hand side was my "afternoon shift" and the left side was my "evening shift". The evening had some great duets playing to listen to while drawing caricatures of the ship guests.

Cruise ship caricatures, Kelly Gannon

I just returned from a lengthy caricature gig down in Central America aboard a cruise ship. I think these were in around Columbia. Man... was it hot!!! The passengers were fantastic when getting their caricatures drawn aboard the ship.... I did on average two gigs a day for them.

Just a small sample of Calgary Party Caricatures by Kelly Gannon. Always on the fun side with a "cartoony" feel rather than a full blown exaggeration, not meant to offend but rather have fun.... maybe a little bit at your expense...  :) Cartoon caricatures are drawn at about 4 1/2 minutes per head... for bodies, a few minutes longer. Wonderful for corporate events, kid's parties and everything in between!
