I don't draw many studio caricatures anymore, preferring event caricatures here in Calgary, but a regular client supplies me with the best pictures to work off of. Here's a yoga studio caricature-cartoon that total about 30 or so drawn for her, (some instructors coming and going). It's nice to see them displayed in the lobby of the studio. The main reason I stopped doing studio caricatures ( I'm asked about twice a week) is that I can't get proper pictures to work from and the hours spent wasn't worth the aggrevation to produce a good caricature. For these ones the client supplies me with a "front, quarter view and side view"...close-up....not 30 feet away, with a hat on, using a picture that is 15 years old (yes....I've had that!).
